“The USS Hornet Museum chose Susan Wood to be the event photographer for Splashdown 2009, its major celebration of the 40th anniversary of the recovery of Apollo 11. Susan’s ability to 'capture the moment' shines through the wide variety of photos she has taken, from wildlife to family portraits. We are very pleased with her work – shooting action scenes in a variety of lighting situations and above all, making her subjects feel very comfortable in front of her camera lens, including the 2nd human to walk on the moon, astronaut Buzz Aldrin.”
